About Worship Guitar Workshop
Jon was asked to teach a guitar workshop for a regional worship team training event in the early 2000s. He was hooked. Prior to this, Jon had been teaching a roster of up to 30 students in private lessons. While he loved connecting with his students (OK, some of the them), he was ready to climb the walls of his 10x5 lesson room every night. But the workshop setting combined his love for teaching guitar and his ADD-infused extrovertedness into one beautiful event.
The workshops evolved and got names: 14 Ways to Escape the First Four Frets, What Your Worship Leader REALLY Wants You to Know, Lead: Step One, Guitarevolution, etc. Eventually they started landing on "the world wide interweb" in the form of videos. Jon has also created two DVDs trainings.
Jon has a knack for teaching advanced concepts in a way that can people grasp them, whether it's a beginner trying play an F chord for the first time, or an experienced player trying to wrap their minds around advanced music theory.
