Training was birthed by training. When Jon got asked to teach his first guitar workshop at a local worship conference, he was hooked. He loves training musicians, leaders, and anyone else willing to sit in a breakout session or webinar with him.

We define training at simply: the development of practical skill and knowledge for improvement.

Training for Growth

You want to grow a strong team that leads engaging worship. The right training can help you make that happen. Training is an investment to move your ministry beyond the inertia of your current situation. The return on that investment is arriving at your preferred future, and getting there more quickly.

How We Train offers training in different packages:

  • 1:1 Teaching & Mentoring
  • Coaching Groups
  • Video Content
  • Audio Content
  • Written Content
  • Webinars and online workshops
  • Live seminars and workshops
An intelligent heart acquires knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge.

How Is Training Different From Coaching?

Leadership coaching is about the coach drawing out the answers from the leader and helping him or her find clarity. Training is about teaching—imparting knowledge and transferring skills.

For example, you might need training to understand how systems work to improve your ministry and free up your time. But leadership coaching can help you clarify and determine the most crucial place to start implementing that systems training, as well as motivation to make it happen. So hand-in-hand, training gives you the what and how, and coaching gives you why and when.

Coaching-Training Fusion

Often, coaching and training work hand-in-hand. We call it the Coaching-Training Fusion. When we intentionally combine these two disciplines of helping, you are able to learn the content AND apply it much more effectively than if you only had one or the other. That’s one of the things that makes our coaching groups so effective.

Leadership and Learning are indispensable to each other.

Sometimes the best bang for your buck is to buy a book or resource to learn the skills or information you need that way. Here are some of those "learn-it-fast" type of resources.

Workshops & Seminars

Training workshops and seminars are the next step beyond books and free webinars. These are a small investment of money and time but pay big returns. We dive deeply into one specific subject to help you grow and change your team through it.

Our workshops and seminars come in three different formats:

  • Live, online events
  • Live, in-person events
  • On-demand (pre-recorded) events

Click on the “Learn More” button below to get more information about upcoming training workshops and seminars and learn how you can schedule an event at your church.

Training Courses

Training courses are a bigger investment of time and money, but they deliver BIG results.

Why? You spend considerable time and focus diving into a subject, or series of subjects. These courses also contain a TON of ready-made tools and practical tactics for implementing what you’ll learn.

Currently, we offer these training courses:

  • The Exceptional Worship Team Coaching Course
This six-session course will equip you to grow a strong, engaged team that leads life-changing worship. You can go through the course over six months, or get all six sessions at once (for you Type-A binge-learners).

  • Small Church/Big Worship
Small church ministry is different, but not easy. In a lot of ways, it's much harder than larger churches. Small Church/Big Worship equips worship leaders of smaller churches (less than 200) to lead in their unique situation. SCBW is offered several times a year as a coaching group.
